"Hello beautiful soul! My name is Karina. I'm a Registered Nurse, Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, Intuitive and the heart behind Breathe Reiki Room in Ohāupo, NZ. I have been nursing for 33 years. For 18 of those years, I have worked in the private surgical sector, and one of our busiest specialties is women's health and gynecology. While I deeply value conventional medicine, I've also witnessed its limitations—especially when it comes to chronic pain, stress-related conditions, and the emotional layers of physical illness.

My journey with Reiki began in 2013 so I have over 12 years of training. Since then I discovered something powerful: true healing happens when we address both the physical and energetic body. As both an RN and a Reiki practitioner, I bring a unique perspective—I understand your pain from a medical standpoint, and I can help you address the emotional and energetic roots that conventional treatment often misses.

At Breathe Reiki Room, I bridge these two worlds together.  I'll never ask you to choose between medicine and energy healing—I believe they work beautifully in union."

I trained under Reiki Master/Teacher Yolanda Cholmondeley-Smith of Cambridge, NZ. Yolanda has over 30 years of Reiki wisdom under her belt, so I am blessed to have been taught by one of NZ's best.

I now carry that lineage forward in my own way, blending traditional Usui Reiki with intuitive insights and the healing perspective I’ve gained as a Registered Nurse. 

I live on a lifestyle block with my partner Austin and our menagerie of cats, dogs and chickens. I am a mum to 4 amazing adults. I love to bake sourdough, I love summer, gardening, coffee and pastries ~ simple joys are the sweetest ~ reading, journaling, and reformer pilates, amongst a few things. In a nutshell, I am happiest tinkering at home with family, my garden, books, flowers, sourdough and being in the sunshine.

Breathe Reiki Room was born from a deep calling to be of service to my community and to offer gentle, soulful and sacred healing. I am honoured to share my insights and wisdom with all who visit here.
