About Me

Hello beautiful soul, and welcome. I’m Karina a Registered Nurse, Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, Access Bars® Facilitator, and the heart behind Breathe Reiki Room in Ōhaupō. With over 34 years in nursing, I’ve supported many people through pain, stress, and recovery. This experience has shown me how deeply the nervous system, emotions, and body are connected.

While I hold deep respect for conventional medicine, I’ve also seen where it can’t always reach, particularly with chronic pain, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. My work blends clinical understanding with intuitive, energy-based care offering a calm, safe space for your body to soften and return to balance. Sessions are always guided by what you need in the moment, and I always work beautifully alongside your existing healthcare.

I trained in Reiki under Yolanda Cholmondeley-Smith of Cambridge, and in Access Bars® with Chrissy Shirley in Hamilton, both teachers bringing decades of wisdom that I now carry forward in my own way.

Outside of the healing room, I live a quiet life with my partner and our animals on a lifestyle block.

I have four amazing children, and I find joy in simple things like baking sourdough, gardening, and slow, sunny days.
